Homeowners Insurance Coverage
Homeowners Insurance
Homeowners all across the United States are doing double takes as they look at their annual insurance policy renewal statements.
A spate of natural disasters, accompanying insurance claims and subsequent premium increases have pushed some homeowners to the breaking point. Out of both personal and financial frustration, some are considering dropping their coverage.
In the insurance industry, it's known as "going bare." And while it might be tempting if you're looking at a policy price that's tripled or quadrupled in the last year, it's not a decision to be made rashly.

looking to purchase different home owners policy for my residential home - to start in December. Any suggestions who has decent home owners policies these days?

Judith,
I would answer that question by saying that I have been with The Hartford for probably 20 to 25 years now and am very satisfied with them during that time. I went with them after I joined AARP at about 50 to 55 years of age. I believe that because of my membership in AARP that there is some kind of discount in premium involved. The Hartford's Customer Service # is 800-423-423-6789. You may call them and check on the discount question. If you're 50 to 55 years old, you might join up and take advantage of any discount that might be available. However, you may not need to be an AARP member to buy The Hartford's insurance cheaper. Good Luck with your insurance shopping.
